Film permit for foreign production companies, and/or foreign filmmakers

In compliance with Law 1302, Article 7, paragraph c); and Article 16, foreign production companies and/or filmmakers, who wish to film in the Bolivian territory, must comply with the following requirements, in order to obtain the permit to film in Bolivia. The purpose of the permit is to protect Bolivian cultural values.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Letter addressed to CONACINE's Executive Director, requesting the film permit, and enclosing the following documentation:
a. Brief of the project.
b. Specific theme or topic.
c. Planned sites or filming locations.
d. Format and estimated length of the product.
e. Purpose of the project and intended audience.
f. List of names of the crew. (Technical and artistic)
g. List of equipment that will be brought to Bolivia
h. Estimated time of staying in Bolivia 

2. Copy of the Identification Card and credential of the person in charge of the production in the country of origin as well as while staying in Bolivia .

3. Proof of residency (permanent address) of the company or the f1lmmaker. This document must show the legal address in the country of origin and must be certified by the Bolivian Embassy, Consulate or Diplomatic body in that country.

4. Letter of commitment to deliver a copy of the finished product to the Cinemateca Boliviana for archival purposes. The copy must be delivered in the maximum term of one (1) year from the date the permit is granted. This letter of commitment must be filed and sealed by the Bolivian Embassy, consulate or diplomatic body.

A set of the above required documents must be submitted in Spanish language and a set in English language. (English language is optional).

Foreign producers must pay a fee to obtain the film permit. The film permit fee, in accordance to the submitted information, will be established and fixed on the official form provided by CONACINE, according to scale settled down by legal dispositions.

The deposit will be made to CONACINE: Account Nº 4010046342 Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz (Bolivia), SWIFT CODE: MERBBOLX. The cost of the bank transfer should be borne by the applicant.
